One of Many Roses

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

For several years, I have been writing short notes of God's graces in my life on my phone's notepad.

On June 2104, I started expounding on my notes. I thought I'd share the stories with family, friends, and acquaintances so as to inspire everyone I know to God.

In October, I submitted a story to Guideposts Magazine in the hopes of sharing the story with people I didn't even know. They published my story online in 2015. Later that year, a publisher unexpectedly offered me a contract to write a book! In 2017, the book came out.

But I had more stories to write.

I prayed to Jesus "I have many other stories, Jesus." I wondered if Jesus would like me to write a second book. (I wasn't even planning to write one until the book offer came up.)

Then, I thought of St. Therese and asked for her intercession, "St. Therese, if Jesus would like me to write a second book, please send me a rose." For many years she has always sent me roses for guidance.

The doorbell rang the following morning.

A bouquet of lavender roses greeted me on the porch! (It was from a friend who said she thought I would enjoy some "non-occasion" flowers.)

And that's how the second book came to be.
