Independence Day 2020

Updated: Aug 6, 2020

All countries went through countless challenges, tribulations and pain get to where they are. Some are still going through that fire to find out who they are even after years of independence.

So it seems with the United States. And this fire radiates so much more intensity on this special day.

So where is the path that leads to understanding, peace, and harmony? Where did it go? Where is the unity in the "United" of United States?

I know that whatever answers I have will not be enough. The problems are too complicated. Little by little over time, things that matter the most seems to have been pushed aside. Things like human dignity, equality of rights and opportunities, truth - just a few of the many basics values that have been overlooked.

Maybe we should start looking inside ourselves, our families, and our community. Maybe we can begin to re-anchor our lives in time tested values of truth, sacrifice and forgiveness.

Just like Jesus. Little by little, by himself, he changed the world.
