Mom's Advice (One Among Many)


Decades before Mom passed away, and when I still had a very young family, I asked her, "Mom, however can I thank you for all the unconditional love that you have given me? Is there anything I can do or give you?"

"A nice trip somewhere. Or maybe a delicious steak dinner."

Nope. I wish that was what she said.

She replied, "Whatever you want to give me in thanksgiving, pass it on to your children. You do not have an obligation to me. Your obligation is to them."

She never expected anything in return. Her love was truly unconditional.
