I baked a gazillion cakes over decades. When I made cakes, I had to have the finest ingredients: flour, sugar and the freshest milk and eggs to come out with really delicious cakes.

Some time ago, I read that marriage is like baking cakes.

It said that to have a good marriage, one should have the right ingredients, just like in making cakes: A cup each of patience and kindness. A half cup acceptance and tolerance. Tablespoons of humor and a generous sprinkling of love.

And the best ingredients will make for the best of marriages too. Guaranteed.
