The Blessed Virgin Mary has appeared many times to the faithful in different places around the world. Her appearance is named after the place of apparition.
One apparition took place in Lourdes, France. Our Lady of Lourdes appeared to a young woman, Bernadette Soubirous, on Feb. 11, 1858. Her story was made into a movie "The Song of Bernadette."*
After watching the movie, I couldn't forget the words at the end:
"For those who believe, no evidence is necessary. For those who do not believe, no evidence will suffice."
Oftentimes, I wondered what it takes for one to believe. Then, it came to me — it takes a heart that's open to the impossible.
Do consider visiting Our Lady at one of her apparition sites when the opportunity arises. You'll never be the same.
*Trivia: "The Song of Bernadette" won four Oscars, including Best Actress, and had a total of 12 Oscar nominations.
