The birth of a child is a blessing, but calls for responsibility that goes beyond what's imaginable. Everything begins to focus on God's new creation.
Such was the responsibility of St. Joseph and the Blessed Mother Mary when Jesus was born. They brought him from Bethlehem to flee Herod's wrath and again later, out of Egypt.
The Feast of the Holy Family brings to light this responsibility that parents have to their families.
Let us pray for guidance in raising children in ways that are pleasing to our Lord.
