On Mission Statements

Businesses and other entities usually have mission statements. These statements tell the vision, the values and goals of an entity.

I thought that if companies can have mission statements, individuals could also have mission statements. It will put in stone (at least for that time) one’s beliefs, values and purpose in life.

The year I got married I wrote a mission statement. I knew what I wanted, what was important to me and what I had to do to reach it. A few months before our silver wedding anniversary, I chanced upon my mission statement.

Though there are still a number of things that are a work-in-progress, the mission statement has guided me through the years.

And after 25 years, it’s good to know that the values I held dear are still the same values I treasure now.

It's never to late to start one!
