A Grateful Heart

Updated: Mar 6, 2023

It was Saturday, the last evening of our Christmas vacation. We were leaving the hotel at 5:00am the following day Sunday with a flight at 8:30am. Arrival in LAX will be almost midnight due to multiple layovers. My husband already got our tickets, and we were ready to go. The boys were not thrilled though because they had early meetings Monday morning.

The Christmas gathering with my siblings turned out to be a very blessed reunion, and I had no other words in my heart but a constant dose of "Thanks yous" to our Lord. I did not even say for what I was grateful for because it was literally for everything, even the little annoyances that came with getting together as big group.

At the strike of midnight, my husband got a text from the airline that instead of flying to two different cities with layovers of three to four hours, we were transferred to a straight flight with just one layover in San Francisco, and our travel time was reduced by almost six hours! As one of the flight crew said, it's almost like being upgraded to first class!

Our boys were so surprised and totally elated for the change. They said we had been Touched by Grace!

I did not even notice, because all throughout our Christmas vacation, I already felt we were all being Touched by Grace.
