Thanksgiving is around the corner, and I thought it's the best time to reflect on God's blessings, big or small, that we have received this past year.
As for our family, here are my Top Ten:
Our oldest visited us for longer stretches of time thrice this year, and the holidays have not even started!
Our youngest in college flew home to surprise us.
Our middle child decided to continue to stay with us despite the enticements of being on his own.
Hubby retired in January. God had everything planned for him. He's almost as busy with a new line of work except that he likes his work now better.
My siblings have purchased their tickets to celebrate Christmas with our family!
I was asked to help with an orphanage in the Philippines in the best way I can - through arts, crafts, and cooking - things that I loved doing as a child and young adult.
Our family's health has been good.
Our 18-year-old family car stretched its life as our son drove home for hours after work. The mechanic said the car could have set itself on fire in its condition as our son drove it.
Our son and his friends saw smoke. rising from the hillside, and they immediately called the fire department. The wildfire-to-be never got farther than smoke rising above a dry brush-covered hillside.
Hubby's car was totaled from an accident, and he came out of it with not even a headache!
After working on a project that has dragged on for over four years, it is nearing completion!
Thank God for all these blessings!
Have you given thought to your blessings this year? Maybe it's a good time to contemplate and celebrate these graces during our Thanksgiving gathering.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
