St. Therese of Lisieux: Day 4*

Writer: Anna Maria De GuidAnna Maria De Guid

*This story is the fourth of a 9-day series on St. Therese's promise of helping those in need manifested mostly through a shower of roses.

There are times when there are no favors asked, no manifestations through roses, but knowing for sure that St. Therese knows our hearts.

A few years ago, our church had a talk by Fr. John on St. Therese of Lisieux. He talked about her life, her family, her personality traits, and her legacy of showering roses.

When Fr. John opened the discussion to audience participation, he asked people to share anything they knew about this beloved saint. At this invitation, my heart lept because I had a gazillion things to share about St. Therese. One by one, people raised their hands and shared. I likewise raised my hand and shared with them one story. I had so many more stories to share, but I did not want to take any more of the air time. Still, my heart longed to share.

When the time came to close the evening talk, I was saddened not having shared any more.

I told myself, "St. Therese, you know I have so many other things I want to share, but am shy to take any more time."

I went home and continued my research on a project I was working on. As I was searching google, I pressed RETURN to get the answer, the screen came up with images of St. Therese of Lisieux! I cleared the search bar and began typing my research topic and again, the screen would only show St. Therese! I did the search a third time, and the same thing happened.

It took a few seconds to clear my mind and to realize that St. Therese wanted to let me know she knew what was in my heart.
