St. Joseph and Mother Mary

Catholics honor St. Joseph the worker on May 1. St. Joseph was the protector of the Holy Family and the obedient chosen foster father of Jesus. He followed all that was instructed of him without question.

This month, we also honor Mother Mary. Catholics venerate her by bringing flowers to her in church. (During these days, we can maybe offer a bouquet of prayers at home to her.) We are reminded that she is the mother of Jesus, our heavenly mother, and our mediator for help through Jesus in times of need. She is an example of spiritual strength, piety and obedience with her acceptance of Angel Gabriel's message to her during her Annunciation.

As we go through this month of gradual transition to the new normal, let us continue to follow guidelines for safety and protection. Let us learn how St. Joseph and the Blessed Mary faithfully complied with the precepts during their time.
