Fear Not

Updated: Mar 22, 2020

I know the words "Fear not," and "Do not be afraid" are mentioned many times in the New Testament. How many times? Searching for an answer, I found 365 times! If that number is accurate, that's exactly one per day!

And there must be a reason for that number. God knows that we will need those words everyday of the year. Especially during these gloomy, cloudy and dark days.

We fear the havoc that COVID19 can bring to our families, communities and the world - in many different horrible ways. We follow the authorities, yet nothing seems to improve. Yet we are told "Fear not." "Do not be afraid."

Take a moment to visualize our very worst fears happening. In our fears, let us then visualize Jesus on the cross in front of us. He knows our fears. He has been there. With him in our hearts, we will slowly feel his peace.

"Do not fear." We need to trust that there is a reason for everything.
