A Long Journey

Updated: Aug 3, 2021

My son and I were talking about police brutality, racism, violence, injustice, and other uneasy issues to talk about. But we wanted to focus on the solution side.

Yes, there is police brutality. But is the answer doing away with the police department? There is racism. Is the answer targeting other colors? There is violence and injustice. Is the answer "eye for an eye?"

Those may seem the quick answers. But we both agreed that the answer is deeper than we think. And it is not easy. We need to go back to the basics.

The basics like sacrifice, forgiveness, and above all, love.

And where can we all get this?

As Ravi Zacharias said in one of his unforgettable talks, only in the hill of Calvary. Everything we need now, we can find there.

Sadly, many have left the image of the cross to churches and not kept them in their hearts.

It will be a long, difficult journey ahead.
