Martin Luther King Jr. was the leader of the American civil rights movement in the 50s until his death in 1968. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for fighting racial inequality through nonviolence. His peaceful tactics were inspired by Christian and Mahatma Gandhi’s beliefs.
On this MLK Day, let us reflect on the importance of peace, non-violence, talks and negotiations during this very polarized time in our county.
And let this peace permeate into our own families and our individual lives as well. A tiny pebble thrown into water will cause innumerable ripples. Let our ripple of peace reach as far as it can go.
