On Different Minds

My aunt and I talk to each other quite frequently.

We talk about relatives, friends, acquaintances and even people we don‘t know, like celebrities. We also talk about local news and world events, as well as business ventures and projects.

When we talk about people – relatives, friends, and acquaintances alike, we hover between observation and gossip. When our conversations traverse the line from observation to gossip, we laugh and remind ourselves that our minds are getting small.

You see, Eleanore Roosevelt was quoted saying "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; and small minds discuss people."

No wonder Jesus didn't focus on people and events. He was all about ideas of what God has in store for us in eternity.

That's one more thing to emulate from Jesus.

My name's Anna Maria! I publish a new blog post every Monday and Friday, two of my favorite days! If you want to learn more about my journey, my book "Touched by Grace: The Journey" will be released this winter through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
