St. Therese of Lisieux

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

I've been a devotee of St. Therese after she sent me my first rose about 45 years ago. I don't remember much, but I surmise I read her prayer card, learned that she sent roses, and prayed for something just to see if she did send roses. And she did.

A few days before her feast day yesterday October 1, I was thinking of how I can celebrate her birthday. Then I realized that on October 1, Sunday, our schedule was going to be pretty tight. We had a lunch event until around 4pm, after which I was to run home to cook dinner for a nephew (our guest of honor whom we haven't seen in a long time) and my in-laws.

Sunday's events went smoothly. After dinner at home, we played YouTube videos of St. Therese. Our guest of honor suddenly told us that St. Therese is his patron saint! He couldn't believe that it's her feast day that day!

And as for me, my heart leaped knowing that St. Therese actually surprised us as we celebrated her feast day that evening... without even planning for it!
