On the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes

I was on my first date, after many first dates. I was introduced to a man whose parents knew my aunts. I believe it helped to know something about the background of people one was dating those days. That was in the early nineties. These days, people are braver to date anyone.

Talk was the usual. Interests. Families. And birthdays came up. I learned we were both born on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, February 11! Not the same year though. Of course, I instantly had a curiosity as to the personality of this person I was dating. I don't think I've met anyone that shared my birthday... yet. It did occur to me that this was something God might have orchestrated as I have had issues with myself when it came to relationships.

Last year, we celebrated our 30th anniversary. I believe that the heavens brought us together. Both of us sharing the same birthday and it falling on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes! Now, that "luck" doesn't come in that often.

This year, Paul celebrates his 60th. We're going to Mass to give thanks and having a small gathering. I do hope I don't forget to mention that maybe it was Our Lady who brought us together.
