Happy Easter!

We have so wonderfully shared many GIFs, prayers, reflections, and greetings yesterday. I have three that top my list. They are from Fr. Nic Lalog, Bishop Robert Barron and Pastor Ric Warren.

Fr. Nic said that since the lockdown, his wish was for things to return to normal. On Black Saturday, he realized that things will never be the same. He realized that like Easter, there will be a new life in us.We will now strive for life with Jesus - giving up our old ways and moving forward to giving of our lives in service to others.

Bishop Barron's homily centered on myths and Jesus's resurrection. Those who compare Jesus's resurrection with other legendary myths don't get it. Myths have no testimonies, no missions nor martyrs. Jesus had all those. And those who testified to Jesus gave their lives in martyrdom. And that is why the resurrection is still with us after over 2000 years.

Pastor Warren said he received thousands of emails from pastors all over asking him what to do for Easter after COVID-19. His answer was so beautiful. He said that the first Easter was celebrated simply. (Mary of Magdala saw the risen Christ and told the disciples. Because of the fear for the elders, the disciples remained in the room where Jesus showed himself.) He said there were no grand celebrations. Jesus said that when two or three are gathered in his name, he will be there. And wasn't that how our Easter was celebrated yesterday?

I wish you all a blessed Easter season!
